Born
in Taiwan in 1977, Annie Su's artistic endeavors began at
a tender age of three when her father enrolled her in drawing,
painting, and calligraphy classes. Although she hadn't yet
realized her individual artistic talent at this early stage,
she did begin to develop a strong appreciation for art and
design. Annie often spent hours admiring her mother's collection
of pearls and jewelry, and as her passion grew, her mother
began encouraging Annie to design her own jewelry pieces
and helped her have them made.
At
the age of ten, Annie Su moved to the United States to live
with her brother. After completing High School in 1995,
she was accepted to Pepperdine University in Malibu. For
the next four years, she excelled in her studies, earning
her Bachelor's Degree in Art and Art History.

While
attending Pepperdine, Annie Su had a life-changing opportunity
to study in Florence, Italy. The experiences that she encountered
while studying abroad inspired Annie Su so much that upon
her return, fueled by her newly-infused passion, Annie went
on to become the first student in the history of the University
to complete every art history course in their curriculum.
Around
the same time, Annie began to realize and define her own artistic
capabilities by partnering with sculptor and pedagogue, Robert
Previtt. In 1999, Annie honored Professor Previtt by exhibiting
seven of her sculptures of steel and other mixed mediums at
The Pepperdine Art Show. The success of the show made Annie
the first student to exhibit such an abundance of sculpture
pieces at Pepperdine University in more than 18 years.
Since
her graduation in 1999, Annie has focused on opening her own
art gallery, with visions of patrons coming to enjoy the inspirational
work of both renowned and up-and-coming artists, as well as
Annie Su's original one-of-a-kind jewelry. The opening of
the Annie Su Gallery marked the first step in fulfilling her
life-long plan to practice and celebrate fine art in all forms.
Annie Su Gallery will continue to include new and hip designs,
innovative art exhibits, and an arena for people to relax,
socialize, and enrich themselves with art.
