My
work today is the result of years of experimentation
with various media, including stone, bronze, plaster,
clay, and found objects. Inspired by nature, the ultimate
designer - along with the work of great artists who
have preceded me -- I strive to incorporate aspects
of my life and interests into my pieces.
My
goal is to create sculpture to represent our time, our
culture, our disposable society, and our skewed mentalities.
I do this by recycling everyday objects in unusual ways.
The overabundance of our modern civilization provides
me the opportunity to utilize superfluous items for
other-than-intended purposes.
It
is exciting to breathe new life into what many would
consider useless or worthless trash. Giving new artistic
value to a part by assigning it a different function
is magical. I use humor, whimsy, and sexuality in my
work to create enjoyment and stimulation, and to offer
some levity in our sometimes all-too-serious world.
