Los
Angeles, CA - November 21, 2002 - In January, Annie Su
Gallery, Melrose Avenue's newest addition to the art community,
welcomes the artistic insight of innovative and celebrated
artist, Chia Ortegon. Recognized around the world as one of
Latin America's leading up and coming artists, she has shown
her new art in New York, Barcelona, and in several exhibitions
in Florida. Ortegon will debut her Centers of Emotion
and Water Sensual Universe series on January 16, 2003.
They will remain on display for six weeks, at the Annie Su
Gallery, located at 8254 Melrose Avenue, and open from 11:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Chia
Ortegon's work has been recognized internationally for their
unique interplay of color and light, their manifestation of
emotion, and their unique sensuality in a style she has grown
to call "Organic Expressionism." Her Centers
of Emotion series consists of ordinary objects rearranged
in extraordinary ways in order to evoke an array of visual
sensations. This series will be accompanied by Water Sensual
Universe, a series of 60" by 40" acrylic and
silk images on canvas. Earning rave reviews at exhibitions
in New York and Florida, this series keeps the eyes moving
through veils of color and feminine imagery in a body of artwork
that is truly one of a kind.
Ortegon,
originally from Bogota, Colombia, has studied, worked, and
painted in Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Colombia, and the United
States, and has been mentored by such revered artist as Daniel
De Angeli and Simona Dolci. Known as a truly unique, innovative,
and cultured artist, Chia Ortegon says, "For me a piece
of art has to touch, within every human being, that intimate
part that craves for beauty."
Los
Angeles art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience
the artistic vision of Chia Ortegon at the Annie Su Gallery
& Boutique between January 16th, 2002 and February 28th,
2003. The mission of the Annie Su Gallery is to provide artists
