Williamson's paintings are a study in subtle, expressive
abstractism.
The textural, layered canvases, combined with the juxtaposition
of colors, incorporation of subtle imagery, and accentuation
with light, illicit images of Rothko and Pollock.
The interaction of stable moods and emotive colors at
the surface with the chaos of the Pollock-like lines
beneath, solicit the viewer to draw on emotions and
feelings from the viewer's own experiences. The colors
are rich, with deep hues, and are combined harmoniously
on the canvas.
"My paintings are a study and an expression of
the moods and the chaos that are Life, says Mr. Williamson.
"Life's chaotic undercurrents are the movements
in the background of the painting, while closest to
us are the
emotions that color this view."
